Strands of Starlight

Strands of starlight
Fragile as gossamer threads
Gently woven in the midnight sky
Like flower garlands atop faeries heads
Pale silver moonlight
Shimmers on glassy black water
Sitting quietly near the waters edge
A young woman cradles her daughter
She closes her eyes and bathes in the light
Of her friend, her lover, her Mother
The silver flame, it fills her up
And for her there’ll never be any other
A cool breeze blows, it rustles her dress
The blossoms fragrance permeating the air
A sense of peace, a quiet calm
Theres nothing that can compare
The beauty of the nighttime sky
Has reawakened her soul
She kisses her child upon her cheek
As moonlight makes her whole
