The Light

In this deathly quiet dark

I seek out your shining light

In this silence of the tomb

The world is covered by night

I strain to hear your whispered pleas

As this darkness, it keeps us apart

Your light is now but a flickering flame

As I try to hold on to your heart

Fingertips graze as I search for you

This heavy darkness, our curse

It’s pulling us in different directions

But real love, it cannot disperse

And so I keep my eyes to your light

As I lean in and grasp your hand

And pulling you into the safety of me

This darkness, it tries to expand

But love it seems, is a funny thing

As you see, I wont let you go

And the light that’s in me pours out now

Into your heart, a never ending, healing flow...

Strands of Starlight

Strands of starlight
Fragile as gossamer threads
Gently woven in the midnight sky
Like flower garlands atop faeries heads
Pale silver moonlight
Shimmers on glassy black water
Sitting quietly near the waters edge
A young woman cradles her daughter
She closes her eyes and bathes in the light
Of her friend, her lover, her Mother
The silver flame, it fills her up
And for her there’ll never be any other
A cool breeze blows, it rustles her dress
The blossoms fragrance permeating the air
A sense of peace, a quiet calm
Theres nothing that can compare
The beauty of the nighttime sky
Has reawakened her soul
She kisses her child upon her cheek
As moonlight makes her whole

Forbidden Love

Silently they meet in the meadow
Tangled in strands of hair,
his calloused hand cups her silken cheek
they dance in the fragrant air
pale hands in raven tresses
the night beckons unto them
sparkling and dense
like some brilliant opaque gem
eyes clamped together
they drink in each others beauty
hearts beating in unison
caring nothing for the world of duty
slowly their lips press together
falling into a passionate sigh
he presses an orchid to her hand
as a single tear wells in her eye
His fingers reach to catch that tear
and press it to his lips
She turns her face up to him
For a long and lingering kiss
The night is almost black now
Not a single star in the sky
Their hearts are breaking gently
But their eyes, they do not cry
Before this night is over
The lovers, they will part
Back to the worlds they belong in
To forever bleed from the heart.

Heart of Darkness

Into this heart of darkness
I will bleed my inky blood
Into this blackened soul
I will fall with a sickening thud

Into this raging madness
I will howl and I will moan
Into this blinding fear
I will thrash and I will groan

Into this barren wasteland
I will sow my seeds of despair
Into this aching void
My beliefs, I will forswear

Into this paralysing numbness
My thoughts all tumble within
Into this broken heart beat
My pain, it wears me thin

Passion

In a rush of passion
We devoured each other’s lips
Lust burning hot in our eyes
Hips grinding against hips

Hands caressing every inch
As your eyes smouldered into me
Desire expressed in breathy moans
As inhibitions were set free

Growling like an animal
Into my shuddering soul
Filling me with the essence of you
As I completely lost control

Taking me to dizzying heights
As I writhed in pure lust
Covering me in gentle kisses
As I arched to meet each thrust

Tipping me out over the edge
As the world shimmied and shook
Then bringing me down with a deep kiss
I watched, while my heart, you took...

Butterflies

And the butterflies danced around me
Fluttering, spectacular colours through the air
Flitting and floating, wings in unison
As they pass through this garden so fair

I longed to fly away with them
To spread my magnificent wings
I longed to disappear from that garden
To a place where happiness sings

Oh how my heart ached to watch
As those butterflies danced in the light
Oh how my soul cried out in vain
As those butterflies left me in the night

But see now! The Moon is arising
My old friend, come to shine down so fair
My longing to fly and be free is abating
As my friend hears my pleas in the air

The wounds that were aching inside me
Are filling with the silver moonlight
The light that is healing and eternal
Like love, it is my divine right

Soon the butterflies will come back dancing
And fluttering around me in my garden
And soon my heart will be whole once more
And my past mistakes I will pardon..
