The Light

In this deathly quiet dark

I seek out your shining light

In this silence of the tomb

The world is covered by night

I strain to hear your whispered pleas

As this darkness, it keeps us apart

Your light is now but a flickering flame

As I try to hold on to your heart

Fingertips graze as I search for you

This heavy darkness, our curse

It’s pulling us in different directions

But real love, it cannot disperse

And so I keep my eyes to your light

As I lean in and grasp your hand

And pulling you into the safety of me

This darkness, it tries to expand

But love it seems, is a funny thing

As you see, I wont let you go

And the light that’s in me pours out now

Into your heart, a never ending, healing flow...
