I breathed you in,
Scent of silvery moonlight
As my fingers trailed your spine,
Blankets tossed like the sea around us,
Your soft skin gleamed in the pale light,
Shadows upon the wall
Told a turbulent story,
My fingers ached to travel the map of you,
To read you like braille,
Wanting to know the tale of your scars,
You reached for me with gentle hands
Your tenderness belying your strength,
Lips soft like pillows brushed feathery traces
Upon my cheeks,
Pressed against my lips and kissed
My very soul..
